Networking Dinner on May 22

Some companies want to expand their operations into China, but need some assistance in doing so. Other companies want to provide their services to aforementioned companies, but do not know how to contact them. CPB’s networking dinner on May 22 served the much-needed purpose of bringing these groups together.
With the success of the Team Mississauga Business Mission to China in April, guests and the media were eager to hear the team’s feedback on the trip. Our team leaders, including Her Worship Mayor Hazel McCallion, Andre Mak, Sheryl McKean and Audrey Chiang were present to share their experiences with their audience. Larry Petovello, Director of Economic Development of the City of Mississauga, was the first from the panel to speak. He talked about how Mississauga was promoted in China, and described the relationships established during the mission.
Deputy Consul-General Guangfeng Hao of The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto shared his knowledge about China and welcomed the guests at the dinner to explore the variety of business opportunities in different parts of China.
Bassanio So, Director of Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Canada, highlighted the benefits of setting up a business in Hong Kong and the advantage of using Hong Kong as a stepping stone to doing business in China.
In addition to enjoying the great food at Summit Garden, Team Mississauga members had a wonderful time seeing one another. Other guests couldn’t help but wonder when CPB will organize another mission to China.
