Phoenix Ball 2008 – Celebrating our 10th Anniversary

Since 1999, the Phoenix Ball has become one of the major fundraising events in Mississauga with around 1,000 guests attending. In the past ten years, CPB and CPB Foundation have contributed well over $1,000,000 to the community through proceeds from the Ball. This year, CPB and CPB Foundation will be putting together an extra special event to mark the 10th Anniversary of the Phoenix Ball.

With the theme of "Asian Culture – Then & Now", Phoenix Ball 2008 will present a spectacular and spellbinding performance showcasing the transformation of traditional Chinese Arts with contemporary variations. The performance will begin with a fusion martial arts ensemble followed by the ancient and magical Chinese art of face changing (bian lian). To heat things up, the sensational new pop girl group FREEZE from Hong Kong will perform a set, followed by renowned local singer Larry Lo. The climax of the evening will be a performance by Ma-Anne Dionisio, widely known for critically acclaimed performances in musicals such as Miss Saigon and Les Misérables among others.

The details of Phoenix Ball 2008 are as follows:

Date: Saturday, October 4, 2008
Time: Reception at 5:00 pm
Opening Ceremonies at 6:30 pm
Place: Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga, ON L5B 4B8

As in past years, we will continue to fundraise for five distinguished charitable organizations in the community:

  • Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto,
  • The Credit Valley Hospital,
  • Trillium Health Centre,
  • University of Toronto at Mississauga, and
  • Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Mississauga

In light of their invaluable contributions to the community, we are very pleased to have Phoenix Ball fundraise on their behalf, and this year we will fulfill our pledge to donate $100,000 to each of these organizations.

In addition to excellent cuisine, spectacular performances, and a wide variety of silent auction items, there will be a live auction to entertain you and others throughout the evening.

We sincerely hope that you could join us. To reserve your tickets, please complete the reservation form or call CPB Office at 905-828-6800 for more details.

Yours truly,

Amy Tjen Andre Mak Audrey Chiang
